Carrier:

Cat5 / Cat6:

Charlton Networks provide SSL certificates that enable digitally security that encrypts an organization’s communications. We provide SSL certificates for your web server, to secure your remote access and strengthen your authentication. SSL certificates can secure credit card transactions, data transfer make web browsing more secure. We provide a range of SSL certificates and design your infrastructure accordingly.

Cloud Storage:

Storage provided in the cloud and accessible via the public internet. Examples include Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services.

Cloud Backup:

This general term can refers to systems whose management and operation is based in the cloud, through to the storage of off-site backup data in public cloud services, such as Microsoft Azure.

Cloud Telephony:

Content Filtering:

Charlton Networks provide content-filtering applications that control and filter Internet access and website content for SME business. Content filtering can be deployed as part of a firewall or unified threat management (UTM) solution or as a dedicated web filtering appliance.

Converged Networks:

Charlton Networks build and support IP networks that carry a range of IP based services, including data, telephony, CCTV and internet access.

CRM:

Charlton Networks provide Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software. We build bespoke CRM from the ‘ground-up’ or use off-the-shelf solutions such as Microsoft CRM. Solutions can run on your own infrastructure and networks or be cloud based.

Data Loss Prevention:

Data Loss Prevention concerns that systems, planning and strategy to prevent the loss of company data. This is increasingly important as users access data from anywhere and at any time from any device. Losing precious company data can significantly impact productivity, risk trading information or intellectual property. Charlton Networks provide services around this area and help customers develop a data loss prevention (DLP) strategy.

Database Systems:

Charlton Networks build and support bespoke software and database systems for storing and managing SME business data. Such systems control processes or workflows or provide data storage, manipulation and management reporting.

Data Encryption:

The process by which your company data is ‘scrambled’  and can only be ‘unscrambled’ using an encryption key. The encryption key is the password to unlock the data and is also known as the ciphertext. Making the data unreadable, means that unauthorised persons cannot access the data. It is imperative that data backup on-site and off-site is encrypted both ‘in-transit’ and ‘at rest’. ‘In-transit’ refers to the data as it is moved and ‘at rest’ refers to its final place of storage.

De-militarized Zone (DMZ):

Charlton Networks design secure networks that frequently contain De-militarized Zone (DMZ). This is a network that sits between a private and a public network to provide additional layer of security.

Denial of Service Attack (DOS):

Charlton Networks provide internet security defences against Denial of Service Attack (DoS) attacks aimed at making the targeted system unusable. Typically, network traffic is generated by the hacker from a single location and floods the available Internet connection or resources so that one can use the service.

Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS):

Charlton Networks provide internet security solutions that defend against a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS). These involve many computer systems, all sending traffic to the targeted system.

Disaster Recovery (DR):

Disaster recovery planning looks to identify IT risks and potential mitigating actions by creating disaster recovery scenarios. All businesses should undertake this planning process, which may result in actions ranging from backup and test restores, through to full disaster recovery testing and business continuity planning.

Domain Name Service (DNS):

Charlton Networks provide Domain Name Service (DNS) for our business customers. We manage their DNS name space and ensure that named services are mapped to the correct IP addresses.

Employee Cyber Security Awareness:

Employee cyber security awareness involves training, awareness and monitoring of behaviour. The benefit is to reduce risk and help employees become better informed about security threats, more skeptical about what they receive and less likely to commit damaging behaviours like clicking on malicious links in email, sharing on social media, or taking risks through other electronic channels. Charlton deliver a range of services in this area, including phish treat and other awareness training.

Encryption:

Charlton Networks use encryption solutions to secure ‘data-at-rest’ or ‘data-in-transit’ that makes data unreadable to everyone except the receiver or owner of the data.

Ethernet:

Charlton Networks provide ethernet based LANs, that operate at 1Gb/s or 10Gb/s and which are built using network switches and a mix of VLANs and IP routing to connect business users to shared on-site resources (like servers) or the internet resources (like web browsing or cloud applications).

Ethernet First Mile (EFM):

Ethernet First Mile (EFM) is an internet connection / line provided by Charlton Networks that provides high-speed ethernet connectivity to business users generally within 5km of the local exchange. The service runs over copper wire and uses any number of pairs of cable (up to 8) to provide service speeds up to ~305Mb/s in both directions (synchronous).

Exclaimer:

Charlton Networks are an Exclaimer reseller and provide the full range of email signature solutions, including ‘signature manager for Exchange’, ‘Signatures for Office 365’ and ‘Mail Disclaimers’. These products allow emails sent from any company device to appear in the correct corporate format and avoid the hassles of setting up on an individual basis.

Exploit Prevention:

Extranet:

Charlton Networks build private networks that allow permitted users of any authorised organization to conduct business transactions & collaborate on joint projects. This technology is ideal for supply-chain management or other distributed applications where information needs to be shared.
